ok guys I see everyone has these mounts for their aimpoints on this site. So realistically what is the big advantage of this mount over say the standard qrp mount that comes with my ml3?
trying to decide if its worth shelling out the 115 bucks for one. |

My biggest complaint with the original QRP mount is the huge knob sticking out of the side. When I had my optic placed where i wanted it, the knob got in the way of my slapping the bolt release. The LT150 is a great mount and I find it to be an upgrade over the QRP and the ARMS #22. You also have ADM and Bobro mounts as good options, but I haven't owned them so I can't compare 'em. |

The biggest advantage is its ability to return to zero reliably if you take the optic on and off. I switch between a red dot and a magnified optic so it is perfect for me. And it's not always just about taking it off to switch optics around. Being able to remove the optic for weapons maintenance and repair is a huge plus. I hate getting bore cleaner on the lenses of my optics, plu how many times have you fumbled and dropped something when working on it. I hate banging up up optics worse than getting bore cleaner on them. and to finish LaRue backs his stuff up with great customer service. |
| Pop the plastic cover out of the center of the knob. Unscrew the screw inside. The knobs are at Midway or Brownells or a old cheap carry handle and are the same thread (The new QRP2 is not the same thread). Cut shaft shorter and screw on the nut. Pretty easy once you have the nut you want to put on. Lets you get the nut tighter than with the QRP knob as well. |
