I just ordered a Vortex Strikefire for my GSG-5SD. I recently found that some people had issues with the dot not being bright enough for outdoor use. Has this issue been resolved? For those of you who own the Strikefire, is the dot brightness an issue for you?

I think a few people got some that weren't to spec, but most customers that we've heard from have been very happy. We've happily replaced any that weren't bright enough if the customer contacts us and lets us know, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

If you do have any questions we're always glad to take care of anything, just give us a call at 1-800-426-0048, or you can contact me through the forum.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply VortexSam! Its great to have to you here.

99% of the reviews I've read are very positive, I just wanted to know for sure.

I'm also really excited for the Viper PST scopes... any ETA on when they are coming out?

I bought a Strikefire last  night.  I'll report in when I get to use it.

Not sure if this will help or not, but the green dot seems easier to pickup in bright sunlight.  I've heard others report the same.

Sure, no problem.

Regarding the PST's we're hoping to have them ready to ship to dealers in the spring. Until we finish testing and start production it's difficult to give out a date any more definite than that. We should have some better info after SHOT.

Hi Sam,

I just purchased a Strikefire as well. Your participation on this board was very instrumental in my purchase. I appreciate vendors who stand behind their product.

Will post picks after it is installed.

Have a safe and happy New Year.

Vorterx Sam, I am happy with mine (I bought another one recently) but I have a question on the brightness. Neither is as bright as my eotech, is that normal?

I don't think they are quite as bright as the EOTech or Aimpoint, but I know that they are bright enough for daytime use. If you can't see it during the day we'd certainly be happy to take a look at it for you, just give us a call. 1-800-426-0048.

Got it today! Fit and finish is very nice, and it mounted great on my GSG-5SD.

Brightness seems adequate, I don't think I'll have a problem with it.

The dot is kind of splotchy though, looking at it up close it almost looks like a triangle with a hole in the middle. Also it seems more orange than red?

I'll sight it in this weekend. Overall, it seems very promising.

The one I looked at, around noon on a sunny day in FL, seemed plenty bright enough.

I picked up a StrikeFire a few months ago and finally got a chance to use it on Christmas Eve.  Everything worked flawlessly.  I haven't had the chance to use it on a bright sunny day yet, but it seems to me like the dot would be plenty bright.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I've noticed that the lenses aren't AR coated... the reflections are really noticeable and are kind of distracting.

Is this normal?

They should be AR coated. If they aren't then something isn't right. Give our CS a call about it. 1-800-426-0048.

Took it to the range yesterday. I love it! It held zero perfectly, the dot was sharp and bright, and it was easy to sight in.

I must have been wrong about the AR coating, there were no issues at the range. Must have looked funny at the time.

Love mine. I have had about 500 rds with mine with no problems. Couple of my LE buddys like it too, and will be looking further into the strikefire. Great product for the budget pricing. Thanks Vortex.

will any other mounts work on this as im not a fan off the standerd style scope mount. they look just like the ones on my bolt gun though good quality just not what im looking for. will a aimpoint m2 mount work?

Yes, any 30mm mount should work fine with the StrikeFire, such as those designed for the Aimpoint M2.

Yeah, I was impressed with the participation by Vortex on this board, as well. That and their "no BS" approach to CS.

I was looking at other sights, but the overwhelming positive positive option of Vortex, along with the great CS the company show here won my over. I'm glad they did, too. I really love my StrikeFire.
