I recently picked up a brand new 512 from a gun shop, but I do not see any indicator to what version it is. There is a sticker on the sight located on the bottom that has a manufacture date on it (09). I can imagine that since it was made this year that is it a version F, right?
I have seen pics of other model EO tech's that have an F under the "For Law Enfrcement/ Military Use" sign. Does EO Tech do that for the 512"s? |
The newer 512s have the cutout in front and it still show the Rev F in the corner. Take a look at this pic and compare yours:

No, I don't think they have stopped placing the F on them. I bought one dated 9/2009 and it has the F.
I read it somewhere and have been looking for an hour but can't find it again, that the Rev F started back in 2004. If that is true a 512 without the F would have been made before that time. But I can't find that again. ETA: I was wrong, mine is dated 6/9/2009. |

I called EO Tech this morning and spoke with MIke Kroll, (repair and service) and he states that:
1. To look at the manufacture date on the sticker underneath the unit. According to him, anything after 2006 ARE Rev F. 2. There is a difference between the manufacture date that is on the unit and the inspected date on the box. 3. EO Tech have stopped putting the small F on the corners as indicators. So, it looks like I am good to go. P.S. I took a trip at the range yesterday and zeroed the sight, it worked like a charm. First, I zeroed my BUIS at 50 yards. Then I co-witnessed the sight to my BUIS. I flipped my front sight and BUIS down to confirm my EO Tech. It was on the money. I did not have to do any adjustments at all. I am pretty much sold on this product. |
