Have an Aimpoint T-1 here...

Used to have a C-3, and the dot was in the center of the thin 'ring' that is illuminated, but not suppose to be part of the view. You can see this on Aimpoints if you just get the right eye relief it becomes visible. Also, it usually has to be on setting 10 or higher to be visible.

On this T-1, it's not in the center of this ring. As you can see in the pics below, you can catch some of it in the view. Now, when I bore sight, my mount to bore to point of impact is usually very, very close. Through the view, the dot is way off to the left. Cranking it over to the right will only make the "ring" show more....

You have it turned up way too high. Back down your setting and the ring will disappear.

+1

This is normal. Especially if you are in a very dark room.

Thanks guys, how about the dot being way off center in this "ring" and appearing off to upper left, do yours have this?

If so, will it effect zeroing?

I'd just try moving my head?

If you move your head around, it will change the way you perceive the dot...so Im not quite sure what you're getting at with it not being centered...

Your aimpoint is probably just fine.

This is the way red dot sights work.  The lack of parallax allows you to view the dot from anywhere.  What you see is what you get.  When the dot is on target (assuming your compensating for your holds), you are GTG.  If you are directly behind the optic, the dot will appear more centered.  If you are off to the side, it will appear off to the side.  No need for the dot to be centered in the middle.

Does it in mine too, but only when the brightness is too high.

Its off centre in my T1 as well compared to my old ML3 where the "ring" appeared when the dot was centered. Just an artifact of the adhesive they use to secure the lenses in place

Thanks guys. I'll sight it in and see how it goes.

Remember, I had a C3 where the dot was perfectly in the center of the "ring" and this ring would never show unless it was on max setting & you had the perfect eye relief to see it. On this T1, it's off center and even the "ring" is not quite round either. That's why I was thinking WTF?

Anyway, awesome site. Small, light. It's the way it's supposed to be!

If you look at the rear glass lens, you will see some clear type sealant around the outside of the lens. This is the optical cement that keeps it in place from moving around, since the full size series has a bigger lens its easier to hide the optical cement, and the extra length of the tube kind of minimizes the ring effect.

When I first got my T1 it was a teeny bit distracting but if you get used to adjusting it to the lighting conditions, you dont even notice it anymore:  mine is at setting 8 right now at night, with light bulb lit room - fairly bright, and I cant notice the ring until I set it to setting 9.

Enjoy your new sight, they are an awesome red-dot!

Unless your target is the sun, you should turn down your dot intensity a smidge.
