Gent's,
Looking for opinions on EOTech Magnifiers. Here's the deal...I originally wanted to build my new Sabre Defence A4 into an M16A4 clone. Then I decided I really wanted a rifle which "looked" similar to an M16A4 - different rail, forward hand grip, optic, etc. So, I originally was planing on a ACOG, then thought about a variable power compact optic (IOR, Nightforce, US Optics, etc.), yet again (since I have a NIB EOTech) I'm thinking of running that with my Matech BUIS and and EOTech magnifier. Therefore, I'm seeking opinions and experience with this set-up (EOTech + EOTech Magnifier)? I have an old brochure which has both a 3x and a 4x magnifier, however, looking at EOTech's website - they only have the 3x magnifier listed? Was the 4x magnifier discontinued? Your opinions are appreciated... thanks in advance! Sakic #19 |

Yes, Eotech discountinued the 4x and replaced the 3x with the G23...which I'm sure stands for Gen 2 3x.
Here's info on the new 3x from Eotech. Eotech G23 Opticsplanet.com still has the 4x w/fts mount still in stock. Opticsplanet 4x They also have the 4x on Ebay of all places with a buy-it-now price and a way to make an offer, so it's possible you can get it pretty cheap. I used to have an Eotech 557.AR223 with the older 3x w/fts mount. The 557 seemed to busy to me and it, along with the 3x, added more weight than I wanted. I got rid of both and purchased an ACOG TA31H and an Aimpoint Micro T-1(which I put on a Larue LT-724 angled mount). This setup FOR ME...is awesome. The glass on the 3x mag I had was pretty good and it was easy to center the reticle once the 557 was zeroed. Couple screw turns an boom, ret centered in mag. IF you like the setup, it's a good one. |
