I've been doing some research and trying to figure out which scope to purchase.

On the AR, where the scope will be used initially, it will be on a Larue stealth upper.

With the scope, I want to be able to engage an 18" gong at 500 yards.  It would also be great to shoot at smaller targets at closer ranges.  I will also use this scope to test various reloads.

The scope will not live on that AR, it will eventually move to a .308 bolt action rifle.

I've found a few scopes so far, and my price range varies.  I just want to find a good quality scope for the money, that has good eye relief where I'm not right up on it which can make it pleasant to shoot, mil dot, and something with enough power to shoot at those ranges.

This package deal is at the very top of my price range, so much that I am really still looking at other scopes, but it looks like it is a great value reading some of the reviews.  It's a 3x9, and I'm not sure if the 9 will be enough for the longer range shots with the .308 (or maybe even the AR... I love the mount)

I will make a plug here for the Burris fullfield II with ballistiplex reticule.  Ive got 3 of them.  Two on AR's and one on a 308 bolt action rifle.  Clear optics,  Aiming points out to 500 yds, American company, price tag is usually $200 or less.
