I am looking into a quality red-dot for my AR build. I want a parallax-free, non-magnified optic.

I am leaning towards an Aimpoint T-1 Micro or Comp M3, but I've never used an EOtech. What are the major differences, other than size and shape, between Aimpoint and EOtech sights?

What are the pros and cons of each?

I do not want to be a flame on your ass but please look over this and the last several pages of this forum.  This topic has been asked every week and sometimes more than once a week and your answers will still leave you making the choice.  It boils down to the people that like EOTech v/s those that like Aimpoint.  Some like one and not the other.  You will find so many varied answers to this same type of question if you look.

Oh kay, well this usually starts a long back and forth running argument around these parts. I would reccomend trying out both somehow before you buy or get both. I do. I like the eotech now but the aimpoint has its advantages.

yet another long thread
Good luck with either choice

Thanks everyone. I looked through a few pages and didn't find anything. Next time I have a question, I'll look a bit deeper.

Now that we got all that out of the way...AIMPOINT FTW!!!!!  Serisouly, The T-1 Is the best out of all aimpoint's and eotechs.  Yes, I have used both.

I was originally an EOTech user. Never had a problem with one. Once I bought my first Aimpoint Micro, I replaced the EOTechs with Micros and haven't looked back.

Summary:

Aimpoint Users:
-Feels EOTechs are unreliable
-Says they are just as fast targeting as EOTechs
-Battery life in years
-Claim to be more durable

EOTech Users:
-Feels targeting is quicker
-Claims that Aimpoints give tunnel vision
-Says that Aimpoints cost a lot more because you have to buy a seperate mount
-Half of models run on common AA batterys
-Brag that it will still work if the lens is damaged

My conclusion:
As long as you don't get a defective EOTech, both optics are very good.  Get which one makes you feel better.  You can always sell it on EE for a minor loss and buy the other if you decide you hate what you get.  After you purchase one or the other, you will then have hatred to the other product as 95% of the people here do and you will post in every thread how your perferred brand is so much better then the other brand even though you don't have direct experience with the other brand.  That's the life of the ARF Optics forum.  The end.
