What size(height) rings do I need to mount a 40mm scope directly to the rail on a flattop upper? Also, will this make the scope too low to get a good sight picture, I didn't want to have to use a riser unless it was necessary.

You need rings with a center of scope hieght of 1.4"

Cantilever scope mounts are better for AR's than standard rings.

Thanks, who makes a decent priced set of rings? Scope is a Burris fullfield 3-9x40.
