Ive been debating between an Aimpoint and Eotech for a while now and have decided to get the Aimpoint. Is the 4 MOA more common than the 2 MOA? What do most people perfer? I will be shooting around 25-100 yards.
Second, can the rubber boot fit on the ML2 or only the ML3? In your guys opinion would you spend $50 more and get the ML3 over the ML2? Third, I want to order it straight from Larue. I have a flat top with an A.R.M.S. 40L BUIS and a fixed front site. Do I want to go with the Standard LT150 or the RAS II LT152? Finally, is the Cantilever mount only used when adding a magnifier? Thanks guys, Ben |

Finally, is the Cantilever mount only used when adding a magnifier? Thanks guys, Ben I'll do my best on this one. 4MOA Aimpoints are indeed more common than 2MOA. I prefer 4MOA for shooting at ranges you describe. The dot is plenty small to get your hits in COM, which is the point of that type of sight. I don't know about the rubber cover thing. I wouldn't spend more on a sight just to be able to use one though. The standard LT150 is the correct height for a lower 1/3 cowitness on a flat top AR. The shorter mount is for a different application. There is a picture on the LaRue sight documenting this. Whether or not to get the cantilever mount (LT-129) is personal preference. But yes, it is helpful should you decide to run a magnifier setup. I preferred the LT-150 myself, before I switched to an Aimpoint Micro. Hope that helps. |

I will be shooting around 25-100 yards. I have both the Aimpoint 4moa and 2moa, and I love them... as far as which is more common.... I have no idea. Molon did a really nice review in the AR15 discussion forum recently about the accuracy of a 4moa dot at 100 yds. I want to say he was able to acheive 1.25" groups at 100. Unfortunately i have nothing to add for Eotech, although I don't personally like the ones I have messed with.... Second, can the rubber boot fit on the ML2 or only the ML3? Thanks for the great help guys. I do think I will purchase the ML3 w/ 4MOA and the standard Lt150 mount from larue. I noticed the ML3 has a longer battery life and a few other features I like. Im already spending $500, whats another $50 right? ![]() Before you go ahead and order, have you considered a Micro? I'm in love with mine. |

I run the H-1 on a LaRue mount. The H-1 is the same sight as the T-1, it's just not NVG compatible and while still waterproof, isn't rated for as deep. Unless you run NVG and/or scuba dive with your rifle, the H-1 is GTG.
You can get the H-1 WITH a LaRue mount for $542 shipped from www.smartgunner.com, by the way. The Micros are just awesome. Small and light. I have mine mounted on the front of my receiver's rail, and when I'm firing, the tube almost disappears. It's like the dot is just floating there. I love it, and this is the optic that will go on every close range AR I build from now on. |

What is the main difference in an Aimpoint and a TruGlo or other cheap red dot? What makes the Aimpoint so much more expensive? What's the rifle for? Plinker where a bad sight means you go home early? Cheap red dots are fine. Work tool where a dead sight means you don't go home? What's your life worth? Your family? BSW |
