What red dots would you recommend beside's aim point or trijcom.  no looking to break bank but don't want garbage either, or should i just save for a aimpoint?

Two questions before I answer:
1) What's your budget, and
2) What's the intended use? (range toy? competition? home defense?)

For general use...try the Burris 135 XTS...I bought it for my son's CX4 and I cannot believe the quality and performance for $220.

The freakin' thing is amazing and I'm wondering why I spend so much on Aimpoints and EOTechs...

A bunch of us are waiting for the Burris AR332.    Red Dot, BDC, 3x magnification, all for $299.

Problem is they ae not on the market yet. The release date keeps getting pushed back, the latest being the end of this month, early Aug.

Seems as if they had to re-engineer several components early this summer.

Check it out at SWFA.com or planetoptics.com or burrisoptics.com.

Looks promising to me.

Put a Trijicon Tri Power on my Sabre Defence, got it from Sportsman's Guide, I am a buyer's club member, for $114 a month on their 4 Pay plan. I love this sight! Can't beat the price either.

Not sure if they still make them, but Tasco's "PDP" model with 5 moa dot has served faithfully on my Rem 12ga deer-slug gun for 18 years.  Around 400 rounds fired under it and still holding zero.

I've had a PDP for many years and it's been a great optic.  I've used it on a Mossberg 12ga, an AK, an SKS, and an AR.  I even dropped it out of a tree stand once and it landed with the full weight of the rifle on it.  It's still going strong.

+1. Mine has been on more than a few of my guns.
Mine took a 15 ft. drop while attached to a Redhawk.  Still going strong.

At $300, I would just hold off until I had enough for an Aimpoint.  I only paid $396 for my CompML3.

Take a look at the Vortex red dot.  Retails for $150, I've dumped my M4gery on it and it's held zero.  For play and maybe even competition, I think it'll work for you.

I've used Primary Arms Mini-red dot sights on my AR, my 12ga, and my 308 FNAR and very happy with this product.  And for less than $100 bucks!

And this Tasco ProPoint TS may be good, as it's also in their ProPoint line $120:

Aimpoint XD
Aimpoint ML2

Older models that are GTG with plenty of battery life plus very rugged

If I can spot a Tin Can at the berm  220Y I can nail it with my ML2 aimpoint / LMT M4

aimpoint/Eotechs jkust cant be beat for a SHTF M4 range 0 to 300Y+

I think I have the best value red dots going but if you can go anywhere close to $300 get a Aimpoint.

I think you either need to hold off for a bit until you can get an Aimpoint (as others have said) or pick up a Primary Arms now, save a little money, and get the Aimpoint later when you can afford it.
