I do NOT own either, but since I am in the market for a 3x I have done extensive research on them both.
The advantages of the new one is that it has a half inch more eye relief. It also totes the elevation and windage knobs on the unit itself, instead of on the mount. There are probably some other minor changes, but none that I could find. The bad is that the new one is a good amount heavier, about double what the old one was. It is also pretty damn ugly, not that that matters  .
It's got some good new features, and I'm sure its a great magnifier. I'm probably gonna jump for the old one though since it is cheaper and lighter. To each his own though...you can't go wrong with that extra half inch of eye relief. |
