I want to get an EO Tech for my AR, but I don't know what kind of mount I need.
I just need something simple
Here is a pic of the AR, http://www.impactguns.com/store/media/olympic/oly_pp-20.jpg

how do those mount ? does that replace the handle ?

and is $135 the average price for the mount ? anything cheaper ?

The ARMS mount is more expensive, and has rails on top of the carry handle you may not need.  Imortal's pic is the one I was looking for but couldn't find.  It does not replace the carry handle (the A2 carry handle/rear sight is fixed anyway, short of hacking it off, it stays put ), it's attached to the carry handle, both should allow you to use your iron sights while attached.

Did you post a pic of an A2, when you really have an A3 with removable carry handle?

so in immortal's pic, the part that looks like the handle actually goes into the handle ?  that's how it attaches, and the EOTech would mount on top of the handle

i found imortals

Both the ARMS goose neck mount and the other simply provide a rail platform ahead of the carry handle, you can mount the EOTech or an Aimpoint there, not on the carry handle itself.  Though with the ARMS mount you could actually do it, but it'll place the optic way too high.

I'd go with the PRIas imortal said.  Less expensive, no rails where I don't need or want them.

Well, if you can just remove the carry handle that is easy.  Every EO Tech comes with a built in mount.  You can get an EO Tech out of the box and mount it to a rail.

If you want to keep the handle, or are unable to remove it, then the gooseneck we showed you is the mount for you.  It screws in to the hole in the carry handle, and the optic sits on the rail just above your handguards.

When you start talking mounts, you start talking money; sorry.  I think the PRI one I posted was quite a bit cheaper than the ARMS version.

whats the difference with that mount, and this mount

will the mounts work with any red dot sight also ?

...as long as those rails up front are mil-1913 or picatinny rails, the EO Tech will mount just fine. Same goes for pretty much any red dot with a mount.

I've got a 512 mounted on the  A.R.M.S. mount and it works fine.
