I realize now i should have down more research before buying, but unfortunately i did not and am now kicking myself for it. I have an Eotech 511.A65 bought around this time in '08. Last two times i've taken it out to shoot the batteries have died within 10 rounds. The batteries are brand new and when i turn the eotech on the reticle "flashes" indicating they are below 20% power; however i just opened the package and took them out. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? If so did you contact L3 and how did they respond? Thanks in advance.

I've got a 512.A65 Rev. F which drains batteries in a few days.  In the OFF position.  Are you storing the sight with batteries?  You might have my problem.  L3 says I have to pay $58 to get it fixed b/c the previous owner didn't give me a receipt.

No i usually don't store the batteries in the sight due to the drain. Today at the range i opened a brand new set of batteries, right out of the package, and inserted them into the sight. It was dead within minutes.

Yeah, some of them do that.

Send it back and maybe get it fixed.

512 - 2 of them, keep them on a rifle with batteries - lithium and no problems so far.

They oughta fix a defect for free, that just ain't right.
