There have been several request for pix of ACOGs on A2 carry handles in the past month. Here are a few pix of mine.
Is this the best setup and use of a ACOG, no, the flattop is. With that there are lots of good old warhorse A2 rifles out there that can get a new life with some modern gear. This is a all Colt A2 Match Target and I would never think of switching the upper just to put a optic on it, that would be foolish at best. As with anything there is some give and take. I hold my head just a little higher (not much) but can now see and hit targets that the A2 iron sights never thought possible. I put a KAS rail on the rifle so a bipod can be used as well as putting a Aimpoint on the rail or light or whatever. None of these modifications can not be undone and the plain jane A2 returned. ACOG on carry handle......not a bad choice. Pix is a RCOM4. yea, suppose to be for a 14.5" barrel...whatever, once it was zeroed at 100yds, this thing hits WELL at the 400yds that it has been shot at. From old to new..
