I Googled the hell out of the TriPower and decided against buying it. At first it sounded like the best red dot available, but then I read many reviews.

Evidently if you use the battery at night then the light collector on top illuminates. In order to make it not illuminate you have to place a black cap over top of it.

The TriPower has terrible batter life. I would like to quote the battery life accurately, but I can't seem to find it on Trijicon's site.

Evidently the tritium illumination is poor (not that bright) and it takes a while for your eyes to adjust in order to make it out.

Supposedly the only thing it has going for it is daylight illumination of the reticle.

To me the selling point of a Trijicon is that it does not have batteries to fail.

Not sure why they decided to make a unit that takes batteries,
so I quickly talked myself out of buying one.

I've got one on my duty gun and am pleased with it so far.  I've posted more in depth if you'll search so I won't rehash everything here.
