| Seeing a few Aimpoint mircro clones on E-Bay for $60-70. Looking for a cheap optic for one of the range toys, any feedback on these? I still have my Haako Tacpoint blue ring on a rifle and still works great! |

Any input on Primary Arms' Micro? Most of the folks in the Optics (Budget) section that have bought them from Marshall are reporting good feedback on them.........

Finding a mount to 1/3 cowitness is the hard part since it can't readily use T-1 mounts. |

If I get one it will be mounted at 1:00 to back up my ST10 so the cowitness isn't an issue for my purpose (and if it replaces the CompM3 on my AK's Ultimak it'll be fine with the low mount), plus I'm an absolute cowitness type o' guy myself. |

My friend (who posts here, too) picked up one of these fakepoint micros at a local pawn shop thinking it was the real thing. He was pissed when he took it home and compared it to the real deal: Sideways numbering, no "intensity" wording on dial, incorrect number of intensity settings, glass glued in at angle, the list goes on. They're probably made no differently than the other chinese fakepoint models.
Anyways, He said he tried it out on his GSG-5 and had no problems but I don't think he wanted to try it on his AR. Luckily the shop let him return it and refunded his money. I hate the fact that these fakepoints exist. I don't really mind legit companys making similar designed optics like Tascos Propoint, but what these Chinese companies are doing is criminal. Its like pissing in a can and calling it Mountain Dew! The worst part is other people take advantage of this. The pawn shop thought it was a legit Aimpoint (obviously they didn't really check) but it was used, and sold to them by someone else who probably knew it was a fake. They probably made a good $200 to $300 off that $50 POS. Criminal jack offs. Edit: Seeing a few Aimpoint mircro clones on E-Bay for $60-70. IMHO I would stick to the tacpoint. If you really want a mini red dot get one from a legit company. Coincidentally, my friend who bought the fakepoint has one a tacpoint on his rifle, too., and its working for him right now. However, he does like the profile of the micro. If a micro's what you want I would recommend just saving up and getting one. |

There is no other retailer. Primary arms is the sole importer. I have two, one on a 10/22 and the other on a cantilever AR mount |

I just got mine in the mail a couple days ago. I purchased it from that web sight even though it said out of stock. I haven't sighted it in yet due to ammo but it looks pretty good and is a decent alternative for a Micro T1 on an AK-47
ETA: Will post pics when I get home |

My question is 'why?'. For almost the same price, you could get a RDP-II from Victor. At least with that, you know it's not going to fall apart and you know who you bought it from and what his company stands for. Marshall at Primary Arms offers a lifetime warranty on the micro's so that was good enough for me. |

I don't see a huge difference in vendors, its not like the RDP-II is TNV's own design, made here in the USA or something: http://www.made-in-china.com/china-products/productviewtMyQzobVaErH/Red-Dot-Sight-RDP-II-.html Both are Chinese knockoffs of good designs, neither is a "better mousetrap". Seems the only real question between them is "do I want a T1 knockoff or a Docter knockoff"? I'm sure both come from good vendors that are willing to stand behind them, and that's the main consideration with knockoff's. Of course, we have gotten away from the OP's question about the real problem-crappola patent infringing airsoft crap found on ebay.... |
