I just purchased an eotech and mounted it to my flattop m4 with a yankee hill eotech riser, which lifts the sight picture to the top of the standard front sight post. I use this weapon for mostly LEO patrol and occasional swat entry. What yardage should I zero the eotech at?

50 yards, point of aim equals point of impact.

+1 on the 50 yard zero, it will put you about 1.5" low at 100 yards and then dead on again at 200 yards

I also sighted mine in at 50 yards.
