I am looking at an ACOG in a local purchase. the ACOG in question has no box, paperwork, ect. Question is where is the model number located on the ACOG ? Its a ta31 series, thats all I know, thanks in advance.

ETA: The ACOG has 2 serial number markings, but I am unsure how to determine the model number.

Waiting to find out, asked  questions regarding the reticle, found it in a local classified. Doesn't have an NSN marking. The only marking it had according to the seller was a 4x32 and JN 8...I think that is common to multiple ACOG's.

ETA:
Question:

Is there any way to describe the reticle, is the illuminated
"crosshairs" a circle or chevron ? Also is there horizontal
hashmarks extending to the Left and right of the reticle ?

Answer From Seller:

There is a red dot in the center and a small scale that runs verticle.

make sure it's a 4x model.. if it has the fiber optic on the outside then it's one of the TA31series

sounds like a basic TA31

Thanks Frens,

Its def. a ta31 4x,

Any idea if basic ta31 BDC matches a4 or m4 ?

I was thinking the model number may be located where its covered by the mount. I was only ever issued a TA01NSN and never had the need to check.
