ok i just impulse bought a eotech 552 without really checking it out. i wanted optics for my ar and ran across them and pulled the trigger. are these as good as you hear or is it just the eotech cool-aid. another thing, what have you with eotech's been using as a rear sight for backup since this attaches to the flat-top.

| Ive got a 552 and it has worked great. Its currently mounted on a RRA UTE2 upper, so its got that fixed A2 style sight minus the carry handle as the iron sights. I bought te 552 used off the EE, and it had definitely seen some hard use, lots of surface scratches and dings, even the protective hood was bent, but the optics have still run 100%. Still on my first set of batteries, im waiting to see how long they can last. I know the aimpoint will have a longer battery life, but so far the 552 has done fine. |
| I have a 552, great red dot. was mounted on a SOCOM16 but I currently have it mounted on an Armalite AR-50 and it holds up great. I know this is not what you would normally see on a 50, but I wanted to test out the rifle and the sight. So I don't think you can put it through much more punishment on a poddle shoter. I also have a 512 on one of my poddle shoters, so don't think I'm cracking on the mouse guns. |
