| Anyone know if you can just buy tritium paint and put them on the front post and rear peep? any pics of yours? |

Tritium, by nature, is a radioactive, gaseous isotope. As such, night sights only work by containing tritium inside a quartz / glass vial that is coated in a phosphorous material. So technically, no, you couldn't have Tritium that is painted on.
HOWEVER, there are a few things, such as phosphorescent paints, that you can add to the posts. The only catch is that you'll have to have a light source to charge them up and they will eventually go dark, requiring more light to work. You'd be better off getting a tritium front post. They're a bit of money, but if the ability to have a ready to go sight ALL the time is what you're after, then by all means, that would be the most effective answer. |
