Well I just shot with my TA31 ECOS at the range for the first time and I'm already deciding what my next acog should be. All I can say is wow! super fun, super fast, and pretty accurate( I guess that really is more me the gun and ammo but it makes it easy to be pretty accurate ). I was hitting within a dinner plate at 200 and 300 yards with the ocasional odd ball in there.
I took about 30 minutes to sight it in then went wild on 100 200 and 300 yd targets so the big question now is where I can go to shoot more actively and get more training in the Houston area? The only other thing I have to ask is what are ya'll sighting your red dots in at. I went to a 25 yard target and got it to the point where it was shooting more or less right on. Is that the "ideal" range or should I be going with something farther? |

I can't speak from too much experience as I'm a relatively new AR-15 owner... But the manual does say 25 yards. *Shrugs*
I'm interested in the answer to that question, also, as I've really been wanting to do some longer range shooting... For the winter I'm kinda staying at this indoor range (it is F'in cold outside, -14* tonight) and the range is only 25 yards. :( Pretty boring for a rifle accurate to much longer like the AR. So please, someone share some nice insight. :D |
