I have been trying to mount a scope to my AR10 and can not get it to zero. I bought the gun used and was given a Pro Mag carry handle scope mount adapter with the gun. After mounting the scope mount in the carry handle and the scope to the mount, the cross hairs on the scope are much too high for the impact of the bullet, and it does not have the adjustment to bring the cross hairs anywhere close to the impact point. My question is: are the carry handles in the AR10 and AR15 different? If the slope of the carry handle on the AR10 is shallower then that would explain why the scope would be looking up instead of straight. If this is the case, any suggestions on how to mount a scope on the AR10 carry handle?

Howdy....
I am really new to this...but I have a pro mag mount also, for my A4....ummmm...you might want to unscrew the little knob under the carry handle and reverse the mount...in other words, turn it around....then turn the scope around, I bet it levels out. |
| Haha, thanks man, but that is not the kind of level im talking about. Its not visible just looking at the gun. Looking through the scope at 100 yards, bullet impact is about 2-3 feet lower than the crosshairs. The mount is in the gun the right way, but im pretty sure that the AR15 style mount is just wrong for the Ar10handle , whether its the thickness of the handle or what, its does not work on my gun, wont seat fully in the handle. I have the ARMS mount for the AR10 on the way now, that should solve all the problems. |
