Hey guys, I just bought a folding Matech BUIS (600 meter) off the EE and it didn't come with any instructions. Now I'm embarrased to ask, but how in the hell do I flip the sight up? I can't find the button anywhere. I'm usually an A2 guy so the BUIS thing is kind of new to me. Thanks.

You just flip it up.
Might be a little tough at first unless it is mounted.
Hope this helps.

Cool thanks. I thought that might be it, but it felt tough and I didn't want to break it. Thanks.

The part that breaks easily is the little clamp that grabs the rail, so don't overtighten it. The rest of the sight is built like a tank, and convenient too.

As memory serves, the tightening instructions were to go 1/4 turn past the point at which you cannot slide it backward and forward within the mounting slot...

Also, if it was previously mounted & no longer has thread lock covering the end portion of the screw, you need to use some medium strength lock-tite.

If you search around, i do believe mongo was selling aftermarket matech clamps, in which you could tighten as much as you wanted and the clamp wouldn't break, i don't know if he still is, but i will tell you, his clamps are top notch, thats what i have on my matech.

Has anyone had problems with these sights popping up on their own when firing?  I checked out a rifle the other day and noticed it had a rubber band over the sight.  I took it off with thinking about it and went to the range to qualify.  When I was firing it the sight kept popping up until I just got tired of it and left it up.

Does it lock in place, or is it like the KAC 300m?

It's spring loaded, like the ARMS 40.  When it's down it's friction locked.
