Does anyone know if the aimpoint m4 can be fully cowitnessed with irons without using a mount?

Without using a mount?

maybe i should be more specific.  according to the website the mount is integrated into the sight like eotechs.  i was wondering if that will suffice for an exact cowitness as oppose to a lower 1/3 or upper 1/3 cowitness. i have an eotech 512 and it has exact cowitness which is what i prefer.  i was thinking about buying an aimpoint m4 for my colt 6920, but since the sight is $700 i was wondering if i can get away with not buying a separatte $100+ mount for it.

It comes with a mount from Aimpoint, but I can not remember where it puts the dot in relation to the sights.
Leaving both eyes open to see the red dot on your target kinda allows the iron sights to fade from view anyways.

The QRP2 can be used with spacers. Mine is stil in the box (got LT), so who knows.

The M4 QRP2 mount should have spacers that allow for both an absolute and lower third cowitness. Try both and see which one you like. I used to like an absolute CW, but have changed my mind over the years and now I believe lower third is the way to go.

thanks for th info guys. ill try it out and see if i like it. im so used to my eotechs that its difficult to stray.  i have yet to have a negative experience with eotechs, especially the 512-65 (f).

To answer your gestion........yes.

Use the full spacer to get a lower 1/3 witness.  Remove the full spacer and you get a dead zero witness which in my opinion fills up your view too much.

Comp M4 is good to go.

Okay there is lot of errornet confusion about the QRPII mount that comes with the CompM4 and CompM4S sights.  The QRPII comes with an standard spacer for use on M4 type platforms and will give a standard Co-Witness.  If you remove the spacer it will lower the sight for use on HK416s w/HK Diopter sights or for use with M16A1/A2 Carry Handle Adapter (gooseneck) mount.
