I just got a new 516 EOtech and after every few shots, the battery door cam lock flips up.  I don't see anything wrong with it, but after 10 shots or so, I have to stop and push it closed. WTF?

I thought i was reading my old post from a couple weeks ago!!!

I had the EXACT problem-I got them to mail me a new battery compartment and that fixed it.
The WEIRD thing is it still feels like the lever is as loose as it was on the first compartment when you close it.  It is VERY easy to open.  My 511 I have has a LOT tighter battery door on it.
I am loosing "faith" though because now when I shoot it I am afraid that if I really need it, that will happen again.

The funny thing is that the latch and door feel solid when closed, and it dosn't open very easily by hand.  Gunfire is another thing, however, 10 shots and its 1/3 open.  It's almost like the mating surface of the latch isn't flat enough.

My 511 was a bitch to open...had to pry it with a key...

I just bought a new 516 myself 3 weeks ago.  Last night at the range after 60 rounds it opened up.  I closed it, then fired another 20 rounds.  After that, it was loose, almost coming open again.  I called Eotech this morning and am awaiting instructions on what to do with it.  Hopefully they'll send me another compartment so I don't have to send mine back.

Mine are tight too. Wonder if there's an adjustment somewhere.

my 512 is way tight.  maybe an after market lever would do work to fix your problem.

Just got a 516 myself.  I have also noticed the lock lever is not as tight as my 511.  It did not loosen up upon firing but I'll keep an eye on it.
