Ive just completed a high quality SPR build and looking at optics.  My choices so far, Leupold 3-9-36 Mark 4 MR/T or the IOR 6x42 Tac optic. I own Both brands on other precesion rigs and or 50cal rifles. Which one would be better on the SPR. Thanks.

Any thought to the NightForce 2.5-10 NXS?

I thought about that optic but I have a credit that needs to be used at my dealer.

The Leupold was one of the models used on the military SPR. I have one myself. I understand Leupold now sells that scope as a 2.5x8x 36 mm. You won't find the 3x9 listed by them.

Its a demo scope that Im looking at, never been out of the box. How do you like yours?

I like my Leupold Mk 4 3-9 a lot. I certainly would buy more if I could afford it. I have it on an spr style rifle, I've never looked through a nightforce or USO, but I'm sure they're a little better, but they're pricey.

In all honesty, a 3x9 would be way underpowered for a spr.

I think a 4x16 or 5x20 would work much better.

I only use 3x9's for nothing..... red dots or higher magnification scopes, 3x9 is like the worst of both worlds.  Plenty of people will disagree with me on that though
