Greetings, Which one to buy and why? Please exclude the T-1 model. Thank you for your help. Take care |
I guess your right. A couple days ago I read the T1 is for pistols, but since then I looked at the Aimpoint website and found it's for just about anything. The only thing about the M2 is that is utilizes a 4MOA dot and I would like a 2MOA. I suppose that limits me to the M3 or M4. Other than the price, I would really like to try the M4 but I saw some of the reticle pictures in the M4 thread and it seems a little iffy for such an expensive sight. |
| A vote for the T-1 Micro. I just sold my CompM4 and replaced it with a Micro. The T-1 lists a 4MOA dot but it just doesn't seem like it compared to a M4 unless you crank the brightness way up. Next to the Micro the M4 just looks huge and heavy. So..my vote is a T-1 w/ the Larue mount. |
It's technically closer to 3 MOA, but they advertise it as 4. I have the T1 and M4S. I love the T1, so light and still effective. However the smaller lens makes it harder for me to acquire the dot at the times. I figure if I can get proficient with the T1 the M4s will be damn simple. The T1 is on my .22 trainer, and the M4S is on my SHTF rifle. |

I appreciate the feedback guys, thanks. While this is probably personal preference, where does the sight feel the best? It seems like I see more sights mounted the farthest forward on the rail and some actually reach over the forearm. Is $700 about the average price for a M4 model? Not too long ago I would rather of gotten a EOtech, I had no urge to buy a aimpoint whatsoever. Although after finally seeing a EOtech reticle in person which to be honest I wasn't that impressed and the extremely long battery life on the Aimpoints, I would much rather have an Aimpoint now. Thanks everyone Take care |

There are ways of getting a Comp M4 or M4s, new, for about $462 delivered. It already has a built-in mount, so you don't have to get another one unless you want something a little faster on/off. I have one and it rocks - 2 moa dot is tight and accurate, works great with a magnifier. Solid piece of kit, 80,000 hours od battery life, AA batts, can't beat it. I mount mine about 1/3 of the way from the end of the receiver itself, not on the handguards. Just enough room for my magnifier to flip on to it close. I just sold all my Eotechs and will be getting more Aimpoints - just bought a T-1 as well! |
