I was under the impression that whatever brightness setting EOTECHS were last on when being turned off was going to be the brightness setting when they are turned back on. Confirmed this with my 511 and 551, but the 552 does not agree. The 552 is about 3 or 4 levels below the last setting when being turned back on. Wondering if it is time to call L-3? Or a new set of batteries? ETA: That was not it......... |

| The brightness turns on to a medium level of brightness, it has no bearing on whatever the brightness was last before being turned off. This is confirmed by my 512. I sold it a few months ago, but everyone can try maxing out the brightness, shutting it off, and then turning it back on, it wont be on high when you turn back on. |

It's designed that way for a reason. Say you're shooting in low light conditions and have your sight turned way down. The next day, you're outside in full sun and try turning your sight on. Where's the reticule? Did it really turn on? Are the batteries dead? Much simpler for the sight to automatically revert to 12/20 and let the user adjust it up/down to suit the conditions. |

Well, the issue was enough for EOTech to want the unit back. Just received it back from the warranty work and there is a noticeable change in reticle brightness. The repair sheet states the reticle was turning on at level 7. Kudos to EOTech for making it right.
