Hi,

I just finished building my new AR and need a scope for it. What is a good scope for it? I am looking for something tactical and to shoot 300yrds and beyond with it. Whats a good one for the price? I don't really want to break the bank with it, but I understand quality comes with a price. I am also looking for something high power to. Any recommendations? Should I go Fix or Variable magnification? Thank you!!

Can you give me some price barrier?  How much is too much?  Personally, I always try to stay below $500, how about you?

Any good name brand optic with mil lines or mil dots.. unless you want a ACOG.. that the TA31RCOA4 has a BDC setup for 20" barrel and will put you right on all the way out to 800 yards..

Meopta K Dot 1/4 from Mike at CS Gunworks for $700 range.
Sightron 4-14 mildot, $500.
But I'd go to the E%E forst and look for one of these or similiar and come back here to ask.
Supersniper 10X
Bushnell mildot 10X
Burris Fullfield mildot 3-9

All in your range and they are very good.

Whats better in your opinions a Fix Magnification or Variable?

Variable in a quality scope.

I like Zeiss Conquest series - you can get them at reasonable prices.  A 4.5-14x scope, with a Rapid-Z ballistic drop reticle will meet all your needs out to 500+ yards, the max range you should be shooting at with that rifle.

I'm about to buy one for $575 with the 800 yard drop reticle.  Can't beat it with a stick - Zeiss has some incredible optical quality and a lifetime warranty.

I would recommend a Zeiss w/ the Raped Z or the Burris
