[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Optic ?

Ok if I mount a scope and sight it in at 25, should it be good at 50, 75, 100 or will I have to re-zero the scope for each distance I am shooting.

Stupid ? - I know, but hey what can I say, I have little EXP with optics.

If I sight in with irons at 25 I should be good to 200.

Same with scopes or no?

55 grain or 62 grain? 14.5", 16" or 20" bbl? It makes a difference.
Longer bbl, lighter bullet = higher velocity = flatter trajectory.

My understanding is with a 16" bbl firing 55grain M193
if you zero at 50 yards, you'll be within about an inch, high or low, out to about 230 yards,
but if you zero at 25, you'll go up to about 6" high at 100 yds and back down to zero at 300 yds.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

there is almost an 8" difference between my 25 and 100 zero on my LMT (55 gr)

I'm sorry I was wrong about mine. My Rifle was zeroed at 100... When I move to the 25 It's 8 clicks up on my MRT = 4".
