Was helping out at an Advanced Carbine class this weekend held by Magpul Dynamics. Lots of optics at the class, including a Bushnell Trophy 1x ACOG look alike. Soon as I saw the optic, I wondered to myself how this would turn out. Before lunch on day one (which means before we even *really* started running the guns hard) one of the mounts knob fell off and was lost. Optic would not hold zero with only one knob. He flipped up his irons and used them until he ditched the "FAKE-OG" for an EoTech and finished the class.

On a brighter note, two guys ran real ACOGs through the class and rocked it. Guy with the Sig 556 and ECOS model had to work on getting propper eye relief and learning BAC, but once he got it he did well. Other guy with the M150CP model seemed to run the course hard both days and in the night.

Also of insterest, guy with a SPOT Aimpoint knock off went from start to finish with his optic without issue.

Note how the the guys with the knock offs are also running Peltor Tactical 6S headsets.

I use a pair of those headsets as well, got em for $60!

May need to upgrade to MSA Sordin Supreme Pro to impress the ladies...

There were many Peltor 6S's in the class. One of the instructors, Costa, ran themas well. You know, when you're electric earpro stops working, if they stop working, all you have is a regular set of earpro. When your primariy sighting system stops working, there's a little more to be worried about.
