[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Aimpoint mount ?

I just received a used m68 and the scope is cocked in a manner to where the battery plug catches on the QRP mount and prevents it from turning. Just curious is this is SOP or not. Seems like it is not a bad idea, and it isn't like the scope being cocked out a little bit from straight up and down is going to be that big of a deal.

You mean the scope is rotated in the mount? (like on the optical axis)?

First off, what kind of scope mount is it? The Factory aimpoint QR mount?

Is there any room to move the Aimpoint back in the mount, or is it all the way back already?

The optic SHOULD be aligned properly to allow for adjustment. If its using the factory aimpoint mount, I dont think they would have designed it so it would be rotated.

The only reason I asked this question (other than my inherent laziness and near total inability to create anything plumb, true, square, or level) is that I am relatively certain that this came from a fairly professional source and it came that way.

Thats strange. Mine doesn't hit and I had the same QD mount with M68 and spacer.

Besides the optic being canted, is it possible that the mount is a replica?
