| A freind of mine caled me yesterday and said he bought a scope at a rummage sale for $30 and asked me if i wanted it. I went over to his house to check it out and boy was I shocked. It turns out it's a Leupold Vari-X III, 6.5x20 in like new shape. I held back my amazement and told him, well I guess I can find some use for it. He gave it to me for nothing. My question is: It is shiny black and i'd like to know if I send it to Leupold can they finish it in a matte-black for me? Thanks |

GUTS, You have a good friend. You owe him big. As for the refinishing questions...the answer I was given was NO. I have a Vari-X II 1X4 with the blue finish. I wanted to have it refinished in Matte blue. Last year I called and spoke with a Leupold Representative and was advised that they could not change the finish. But enjoy the fine scope. Congratulations! Thanks, bdz |
| I had the same question a couple of years ago. Leupold will NOT refinish the scope, however they did refer me to a place in ID that they recommended. I don't have their information anymore but if you give them a jingle I'm sure they could point you in the right direction. I will give you a heads up though, he was NOT cheap, but you did get that scope for free... |
