[ARCHIVED THREAD] - ARMS #51C

I have a Bushy 16" A2 style and was wondering if the 51C is worth getting. Anybody out there owning one or having any info on it would be appreciated. Pros and cons please. New to the board so if this is covered elsewhere, let me know, and sorry ahead of time.

HELP!!! Somebody out there has to have some info on ARMS #51C. Even second or third hand info, anything!!!

I'll answer your question like this: If you plan to use optics, your best & least expensive option is to swap out that A2 upper for a flat top receiver.

No problem.

The fixed carry handle AR/M16 is an anachronism.

The present/future of combat arms involves magnified & unmagnified optics, night vision, thermal imaging, laser range finding, etc., and all of these devises are best used in conjunction with a flat top upper receiver.

Nostalgia for the carry handle is great and all, but time & tech. marches on... get a flat top & don't look back.

Yeah, I bought it because it was similar to the m16a2 which is what I used in the service in 92-96. I thought all this "flat-top" stuff was just a new way of upping the price on an old product line. Boy, was I wrong. Lessons learned the hard way, I guess.
