Anyone useing any Falcon Menace scopes? How accurate are they, how do they stand up?

The guys at Snipershide.com seem to be pretty impressed with them.

From what I can gather-- I don't own one-- they seem to be well made and repeatable.  Some mentioned that the knobs are not quite as crisp as they'd like, but they still perform as expected in a $400 optic.

There was a thread there about one model that had tube seperation, but Falcon Optics has addressed it.

Furthermore, the representative of Falcon Optics gave assurances that the 4.5-14X50 FFP is a one-piece tube.

From what I have read, the optical clarity is somewhere on the lines of a Leupold VX-II or slightly worse.  Many have said that the optical clarity is roughly equivelent to the SuperSniper.

In my opinion, the weak point of the Falcon Menace is two fold:

One, the company being in GB with little US presence makes communication and issue resolution problematic.  Warranty work is first handled through the Dealer and it goes from there to Falcon Optics.

Two, It is unclear as to what the warranty actually is.  I think it has a 5 year warranty, but I think it is unclear what will actually be covered.  While this is a cheaper optic, I'd still like to see more in the department of standing behind the scope.  I suppose Leupold has spoiled us all.

I still don't like that there isn't an illuminated recticle option on the Falcon Menace as well.

In the price range of the Falcon Menace, I think I would be more likely to go with a Millet TRS-1.  From reading at Snipershide.com, I have seen Steve Millet promptly address and rectify any issues with his optics.

Furthermore, they seem very responsive to their customers' wants.  I spoke to him last week and he said that a newer version of the TRS-1 is being released after Shot Show "09.

This one will have the turrent locks, the Illuminated Mil-Dot, and the large focus knob.  But it will also have count-up indicators on the turrents and will be 1/4 MOA knobs instead of the 1/8 knobs.

While I am putting a Leupold Mark 4 on my Long Range rifle, I think I may take a look at this one when it comes out for a possible project I am considering.

Don't get me wrong...  The Falcon Menace caught my attention and I have spent quite some time researching and considering one.  I think they are in a market area where a lower-cost variable optic would sell.  There are just a couple things that they could do better in my opinion.
