I have a Bushmaster M4A3 (BCWA3F 14M4 IZ) and would like to put a EOTech 512 sight
on it. My question is will my will my front sight get in the way or do I need a riser?

Without a riser, the front sight will be in the middle of the EoTech "screen". Some shooters prefer it that way--I do--some don't and add a riser to raise the Eotech so that the front sight is in the lower third of the Eotech field of view. Its a matter of personal preference.  Suggest you try it mounted without a riser.  If you don't like it, add the riser.

Buy a YHM or PRI, in fact there are a few flip up front sights that replace the front sight/gas block. That's the way I went.

It will be fine without a riser.  I have been using this set up on my BM for over a year and it is not a problem.  BTW, the GG&G throw lever is nice to have with the EOTech.  You can get this instead of the riser......

Don't worry about the front sight. Leave it there. When the batteries fail on you you will need the front sight in order to use the Eotech as one big-ass ghost ring to still deliver shots to your target when they're 10 yards from you.
