I have a leatherwood m600 scope. not the best but it works. went shooting today and at 50yds i was shooting about 1/4" to the right. I then moved to 100yds and shot. I was shooting 4 1/2" to the left! what is going on? I have no idea. Could you guys tell me what you all think? thanks Ok i talked to someone back at the range and they said it could be due to parelex (SP?). Does this sound right? I dont think so because I have not had this problem beforewith other scopes. I shot again at 50yds and it was again back to shooting 1/4" to the right. Moved to 100 and its shooting 4 1/2" to the left. Could it be a defect in the scope? I hope not because i dont think I can send it back. I bought it over a year ago before I went to Iraq and never shot with it untill now. Any help out there? |

When you say the POIs went from 1/4 inch off the right to 4.5 inches to the left, it's still in a group? While it is possible that parallax could be the cause, it's not that probable going from 50 to 100 yards. I would expect a parallax error of this magnitude with a scope zero'd at 100 yards, but being used to hit something at 25 yards, and not the other way around. If you have a collimator, mount it on the rifle after ensuring that it's unloaded. Then, just do a box test and see how well it can follow the squares on the grids. |

Were you able to adjust it so that you were hitting center? The parallax can be an issue but most likely not that big of an issue at 100yds.
