| Opinions on the TA47 (2x20 no BDC, cheveron retical) for an M4-gery flat top??? I have been doing a bit of reading up on ACOG's and have read pro's and con's on most models except the TA47. I know it is only 2x. I don't see a need for a BDC retical if sighting in for 50yds (and never really shooting past 100yds, in my case).... Seems with the tritium and fiber optic,, retical illumination shouldn't be a problem. Would I be better off with the TA33R-8? |

The TA47 are nice I'm a big fan of the TA33R8 but they can be hard to get. I think we some of the TA338's in stock. The 1.5x and the 2x work just fine I used a 1.5 on a 11.5" for sometime. I shoot 3-gun competitions. Targets that range from 1 yard to 500 yrds. For the last several years I have used the TA-11. Very nice scope, didn't think I would find anything better. I then built a back-up rifle and decided to put a less expensive ACOG on it and went with the TA-33. To make a long story short, this is my new 3-gun scope. Amazing piece of glass and does everything as well, if not better, than most of the other ACOGS. I vote for the TA-33 only because you say you won't shoot past 100 yrds. But once you get going with a good scope, you will want to challenge yourself at distance. |
