Went to the local money pit store AKA gun store and picked up a TA31RCO-M4CP ACOG today. I paid about $ 1,100.00 for it, it comes with a ARD, and a pouch ,lens pen and a lapel pin. The glass is super clear and the chevron in very bright. I have an ACOG TA01 mounted on an M-16 A1 and find it to be an awesome weapon sight. I wanted to put this out for any ACOG user planning to mount to an A1 sight platform. YOU MUST, repeat.... YOU MUST ensure the rear sight is in a position flipped back toward the shooter before you mount the ACOG. If not the gun will shoot 2 feet high and you can not adjust the error out. What happens is the sight blade will jack the rear of the ACOG up 1mm and change the angle of the mount in an A1 version. It happened to me and took an hour to determine the problem. The optic is awesome and has wonderful night use capability. NOTE: Partial paralax free. The cross hair center is made paralax free but side areas are not. It is a little odd but works. When you move around on the gun the center stays stable but sides stretch or distort a bit. Not a problem bust wanted users to know. Very high quality optic and worth the extra money for durability. Trijicon drop tested the design and the body is "FORGED" not cast. |
