| Spotted a Sunclear Vector fake at a gunshow and it looked pretty solid...anyone have any experience with one of these Sunclear Vector aimpoint clone. |
|
Just installed one on my Armalite M15 last night.Looks great and was in my price range"CHEAP". Will throw a couple hundred rounds down range this weekend and get back to ya. In my 40 or so years of shooting with numerous types and price ranges of optics I have found that "Most"equipment(whether high priced or not)will out perform most shooters. PLEASE.....No bashing from the guy who shoots "ONE HOLE GROUPS"at 300 meters.Because he now has a $1,000+ optic attached. From "MY" personal experience.... "inexpensive" doesn't always mean that it's not a "Quality"product.I do have a $30 Simmons Red Dot that has been as reliable and as accurate as my $1,000 ACOG. "JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION" |
Although I would generally agree with your most stuff "out performs shooters" theory (interesting even more true with motorcycles, but i guess that's a different story) I have not found that to be true with optics. I have found cheap glass does not hold zero, does not track reliably and does not keep water out. I, like nearly all my "huntn' buddies" bought crap scopes like the Tasco and BSA scopes at wal mart. They SUCK! I've gone through BSA, Tasco, Bushnell, Springfield Armory and I can't remember all the others. I REALLY question going below the Leupold/Nikon/Bushnell 3200 level of scopes. Only 35 years of shooting though |
That's the M2000 I'm just talking about the m2 without the nob on the left side....Is this the one you have? http://www.amazon.com/Green-Scope-M2000-Cantilever-Mount/dp/B000S34B4U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&m=A2B2TXVNKFJH7I&s=sporting-goods&qid=1207185397&sr=1-2 Or this one...... http://cgi.ebay.com/Tactical-1x30-M2-Red-Green-Dot-Scope-with-Laser-Letter_W0QQitemZ130155160650QQihZ003QQcategoryZ66827QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262 |
| Picked up a Sunclear knockoff from a guy I know, I have been banging on it testing it out and it keeps it's zero. I thought these were supposed to be junk but I guess not. I told him I was going to be trying to mess it up and he said go for it because he wants to know it the claims of his distributer are true about it being a really good copy. I realized it may take thousands of rounds to find a problem with it so after about 300 rounds I decided to start smacking it with the hammer I brought to the range. Don't worry The rifle was unloaded. I wouldn't suggest others doing the same...I was just trying to see if I could say it won;t hold up but after many hard smacks to the side front and back of the scope.. Turning it on and off again I still held it's zero. I tried the same to a BSA I have with just a hand slap that many times and had to re-zero it. So there you are, unless this is not typical of this Aimpoint copy I would say it's darn good. If you want on of these let me know and I'll give his phone number. He doesn't advertise them on his site because they say Aimpoint on the side and he doesn't want people misled even with a disclaimer. A real stand up guy in my opinion. I'll attach pics later. |
when did the definition of "stand up guy" change to include people selling counterfeit goods? ![]() will these shill accounts ever go away? every one of these threads about UTG/Fakepoints/etc read like those ridiculous scam emails...

| You and hellbound can continue to live in your parents house and work at burger king to buy your "real aimpoint" for all i care. Some people have family's and spend their money on other stuff besides themselves. Why were you lurking around for threads about fake aimpoints anyway?? Get bored with Tomb Raider and dope? |
Low post count, has deleted Six of his fourteen posts in the last three months, hawking the virtues of cheap knock off optics and sensitive to boot. Go Figure. That stuff is ok for paint ball |
Is that meant for me? I haven't posted 12 or belonged for 3 months? |

Wow!! Time sure flies doesn't it? I thought I joined in March, I guess I could go see how many posts and how often with you but It doesn't matter. You know...I would continue to be pulled into this but I see a quote on your posts that I can't fault. Are you a Marine? If so what outfit? I come from a long line of Jarheads. So anyway for those of you reading this to figure out whats up with the sunclear. Going to pull it apart this weekend and see if it's cobbled or solid. After seeing the other thread about knockoffs with pics, I wonder if they upgraded the insides yet....... |
