Can an ACOG that says its for a carry handle mount be converted to a flat top mount?I am looking at a TA01B for a 308 and would like to use a Larue mount on it if possible.

More than likely yes.  Call Larue and ask just to make sure though.

Yes it will work.  Non-flat top models come with the  washer and screw for carry handle mounting, it's the same screw you use to mount the ACOG on a TA51, 19S, 19LD, LaRue, etc. flat top mount.  Only a single screw is needed, you will however find two screw holes on the bottom of the ACOG, you can get an extra screw from Trijicon.  There had been threads on the thread pitch and size of the screw, if you find it you can get it from a local hardware store

Yes, read the sticky at the top:

The Trijicon (ACOG) flat top mount is the TA51. It can be found CHEAP on EE. Then latter you'll buy the LaRue and sell the TA51 CHEAP on EE.

All ACOGs except for certain of the compact models will work on the Larue mounts.

The issue that you'll need to be aware of is that if it says it was meant for a carry handle then the bullet drop compensator will be calibreated for having the sight mounted up high on the carry handle so it may not be as accurate when mounted on a flat-top.
