I just got my Aimpoint Comp4 today and Im exited about it, but theres one problem. Theres an annoying littel fuzzy dot low and to the right of the aiming dot.

Is this normal?

This is my 1st Aimpoint and I dont want that littel dot there all the time couse its distracting.

Is there a way to get rid of it?

It looks kinda like this.

Otherwise I'm happy with the optic and I cant wait to go site it in.

Upon further inspection it looks like a reflection of the lite that shines the dot onto the glass. Dout I can do much about it. But I'm open to suggestions.

Does anyone even have an idea what I'm talking about?

Could it be that you have the brightness level too high?

You're not looking through the sight backwards are you?

Also, if the sight is turned up too high for the light condition it will produce glare.  If you can make out a red ring around the outside of the lens, it's turned up too high.

If none of this helps call John at Aimpoint in Chantilly, VA.

Already got Eotechs.

Its not turned up to high. I did notice its not there in daylight. I will take it to the range later and spend a bunch of time shooting it. I'll just try to live with it for now.

Yes, if you look through a lot of red dots from the other end, you can see the reflection of the LED that makes the dot down and to the side, much like what you show.  You can also see this with the illumination turned up too high.

Nope, defenetly don't have it on backwerds. I aint that big a morone.

I think I'm just going to live with it. Not sure its worth the trouble to send it back. Even though I know the good folks at Aimpoint would make it right. I spent some time on the range and it was'ent a big issue. Its not really that noticeable in the sunlight anyhow. And in dim light I'll just ignore it. Its deffanatly not so bad that I would mestake it for the reticle.

Heck no, send it back and get one that works properly. For what they cost, why tolerate one that's less than 100% functional. It might be annoying now, but what if it's an early indicator of a worsening problem or complete failure ?

I was at a gun store today (3/11/08) and there was 3 other smaller dots like in your picture, the dealer told me it was just dust?????? ??????
I wanted to buy one  but show me one that’s got one dot so I know for sure.... The main dot was incredibly sharp,
