I have this new Colt carry handle. I slapped it on the rifle, and showed it to somebody, who noticed that the rear sight was canted left. I noticed it as well afterwords, and upon close examination the hole in front of the sight aperature was empty, which looks like it should have a (threaded?) piece in it, to keep the rear sight piece straight.

What piece do I need to fix this problem? Is there any nuances that I should know about for fixing it?

Thanks!

You do not have a problem.  Your sight is correct. Leave the hole alone unless you read the TM and learn how to take it apart.
The reason it tilts to one side is to ensure that it is aligned each time.  Only one side has a spring and detent ball.
Yours is fine, move on to other things to worry about.

The elevation drum is actually two parts held together with an allen screw. Turn the wheel to 6/3 and look in that hole.

All of their stuff is crooked.
Just kidding.
Love to see all of the Colt guys come screaming.
I own 2 myself.
