I am looking for a scope mount that will work on my AR with fixed handle. Is it worth the effort? |
| I use the ARMS #2 mount on top of my carry handle. Is it worth the effort? It was for me. But that is just a matter of opinion. A flat top is the best way to go if an optic is the primary sight. That doesn't mean that a carry handle mount won't work. One advantage of the carry handle mount is that you have very good back up iron sights available. |

Depends on the scope you're mounting as well. A carry handle mount like the ARMS 02 puts the centerline up really high, and you can't get a good cheekweld with most stocks. I do this sometimes for getting test groups with magnified optics, but it's not optimal for me. If it's a non-magnified optic, a gooseneck mount lets you put it at a reasonable height and allows co-witness, depending on the mount and optic. |
