I was looking at getting a red dot scope for my AR-15 and because I just spend a fortune on the gun I don't have very much money for excellent optics and probably wont for some time.  Now I've read posts and done some research and I know everyone says to spend eleventy billion dollars on good optics but I'm not target shooting and I'm not trying to hit a fly from 900 yards away.  I was wondering what would be a good scope in the 200-250 dollar range?  I liked the idea of the red dot scope and found this one www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_35405_400001003_400000000_400001000_400-1-3 but didn't know if it was worth a crap or not.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I have one of those that works on a deer slug gun.  I think I would look at a Burris Fast Fire or their XTS red dot.
