Yes but why do you need/want to? It looks fine.

Yes, it’s possible to remove the FSB.

OK; the FSP (post) just screws out. Just use whatever you use to adjust it with and back it out. Watch out for the spring.

If you talking about the whole "A-frame" front sight base it's a bit more involved.

Where are you heading with this project?  (purpose of the weapon)
Do you want it out of the way for an optic?
Do you need a front sight at all?

I want to replace it with something very low profile, i dont want any iron sights on my AR, i will stick with my aimpoint.  I have found some nice gas blocks, but i am wondering what u guys thing will look great for a low price.

No Irons!!!   I agree the sleek look with no front sight is nice just not sure is something I would do.

- If you replace the gas block make sure you do it right with the right tools as that is a critical part of the gas system. Jack that up and your rifle will not run.

Bushmaster and I'm sure others as well make an upper with no front sight.

I'll assume that is the look your trying to achive.

Good luck with your project.

Troy Mnfg. makes one that is low profile enough to fit under hanguards for $45.
