If I put a scope on a flat top upper with a front sight tower....will the tower distort the scope view?

Not that you would really notice, and even then, only at low (4x or less) magnifications. At worst, all you get is a very faintly defined smudge in the field of view. Most of the time, you have to be kinda looking for it to notice it.
