Just wondered if anyone had a chart showing the battery life in hrs for an Aimpoint Comp ML3 on each of the brightness settings ?

At a medium setting the red dot stays on for 7 yrs.. I think that would be more then sufficient for you....

Or make your life real simple.. replace the battery annually and never shut it off (regardless of the intensity setting).

Yes, I was trying to ascertain how long it would last if I left it turned on. I suspect that the brightest two settings use a lot more power than the rest - seems to be quite a step up in brightness on those.

I note that the batteries are cheaper if you buy a ten bulk pack of the Sanyo ones. They are quoted as having the same mah rating as the Duracell (650). Not sure how these compare to the genuine Aimpoint batteries.

Anyway, I have 5 Aimpoints, so I figure if I just replace all batteries every 5 yrs, then a $25 battery pack from Botach will last me 10yrs. Acceptable eh.

They are advertised at 50,000 hours for battery life.....
