Brownells are offering a BUIS set (front and rear) that looks reasonably priced ($100 for front and rear). Wondered if anyone has tried a set and if so, are they any good ?

thanks

The rear sight looks like a GG&G MAD BUIS. I wonder if they are re-branded GG&G's or Chinese knock-offs? They are priced at about 1/2 the GG&G retail price.

I have the set.

They are made by these folks: www.americanspiritarms.net/store.php?crn=212&rn=416&action=show_detail

The front sight shouldn't be over tightened to the rail or it's hard to raise and lower. I used blue Loctite on the bolts when the sight was fairly tight on the rail. The front sight moves reasonably well up and down (i.e. folded up or down). But if you tighten the front sight too much it's hard to fold the front sight up/down.

The rear sight has no issues. I like the rear sight quite a bit. You can tighten this one with no issues.

I got mine for $80 for the set from Brownells a while back and have to say am quite pleased. Brownells no longer offers the set price, you have to buy each individually which comes out higher than the set price. I don't know why this is the case.

Thanks for the input fellas

The GG&G seems to have a locking button, while the Brownells does not. Just wondered if anyone had used them and how well they held up. Seem like good value
