All: I have a Colt AR15 SP1 model with regular carry handle. I recently began to experiment with a rail mounted forward handgrip and noticed that it might be high enough to mount one of those cheap BSA red dot sites in front of the carry handle. Since the eye relief seems to be appropriate, this seems a good idea for me. Note that I am not using this weapon for professional purposes, just my personal entertainment. I have other tools for personal defense. I am interested in anyones experience with this. In particular will this be a good idea for cowitness with the carry handle behind the red dot site.
